Pennington Productions Presents: Home Ranch Promo’s

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

In June, I got a gig shooting and producing a film about the older generation of a family during a reunion.  What could of been a disaster turned out to be a week of friendship and respect for people I did not know.  As a favor to the wonderful people who work and run the Home Ranch in Clark Colorado (www.homeranch.com) I produced these two short promos for their own promotional purposes.  And I got to ride a horse for the first time….

Here is some footage of the Barn Dance they have there every week…it was my first Virginia Reel and as it turns out, was actually done again at my friend Q’s wedding and I could throw down with it…

A consistent and great client, just wanted to give a shout out to Tyrone for helping me work, and the time he puts into establishing good lacrosse in the Boston area and beyond….

Eric’s Wedding

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I was coming off a job in Colorado where I filmed a family re-union on a Guest Ranch ( http://www.homeranch.com/ ) and went straight to my good friend, Eric’s wedding in Baraboo, Wisconsin.  I got in real late on the night of the rehearsal dinner and had to take a cab from the Madison airport out to Baraboo.  The cabby was a sensitive young Brian who had a demeanor that said more in his face than we actually talked about.  He went to U Wisco Madison, The Badgers fronted a friendly young Badger that goes by Bucky, Bucky the Badger.  We talked about college, he told me what he studied, I don’t remember, he said he was probably gonna get into Hotel Furnishing with his father.

The rehearsal Dinner was out at Devil’s Lake State Park and without much knowing where it was, him and I navigated our way through the outskirts of Madison to this lake.  He remembers where the lake was from when he was a kid, but more famous than the Lake was the Dells, a monster water amusement park where foreign girls where said to be hired to work for the summers, and businessman from Chicago vacationed with their families, and the local industry boomed for four months out of the year.   I arrived at the dinner and there was a bird stuck in the shelter where the party was taking place.  Eric and I’s roommate from college is an ornithologist, so everyone expected him to be able to catch a swallow in a high-roofed room full of people.  We had a established many new expressions, ingrained moments, and I filmed the best I could while still having a hell of a time at this ceremony we call a wedding.

To see more professional eye and take on the wedding, Eric’s childhood friend Jake Poehls took some amazing photographs and if you ever get married in Chicago, you should look him up.

The Jewell/DiNatale Family Olympic Experience

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Here is our family experience of going to the games.  The camera only captures a portion of the excitement, rain, and drinks, but maybe in the full length documentary there will be more of all that.

Tyler Jewell- Red Bandanna

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

My brother Tyler has been wearing a red bandanna in honor of his friend and lacrosse teammate from Boston College, Welles Crowther.  This video explains why Tyler still wears the bandanna, and how it helps ground him and always puts things in perspective.

Family is Everything

Monday, March 1st, 2010

My brother Tyler Jewell has just completed his second Olympics, and it was once again a family affair.  The trip brought together twenty four family members and friends, and despite the nasty conditions on race day, we all had a wonderful time, albeit a wet one.  So despite the fact the weather was not ideal, the company and people supporting my brother could not have been a better crew.  I was proud to be a part of it, and was proud that my brother has helped me realize some of the more important aspects of life.

For this reason, my brother and I decided to produce this promo leading up to the Olympics.  Our family started to try and embody the expression, “Family is Everything,” after the 2006 Olympics, and it has become our goal to spread this motto around and remind people that in times of trouble, family is everything.  Please visit the website, www.familyiseverything.com, to read more about our goals and actions to spread the love that family is everything.
